Was responsible for investigating and evaluating development methodologies for use by the division on new software projects.

Member of the staff for PentaCon, the largest and oldest gaming convention in Indiana and northwestern Ohio. The convention occurs annually in early-November, runs for three days, and includes well over four hundred games, seminars, and other events. In 1999 (PentaCon XV), over 1,100 individuals attended. As Mailing List Coordinator (1991-1995, 1998-1999) maintained a 3,500+ name mailing list. As Publications Coordinator (1991-1995, 1997-1998) prepared advertising, convention support materials, and the convention Pre-Registration Book. As Games Coordinator (1997-1999) solicited game submissions, organized the convention events, and oversaw the games registration. During 1997 the total number of events at the convention increased by well over 50%. Was appointed Chairman of the PentaCon staff in June of 1998. In 1999 the convention experienced a 27% increase in attendance.

Software Configuration Manager

Under MIL-STD-2167, designed and implemented the first Developmental Software Configuration Management (DSCM) system for a DoD project on the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) Project. It combined traditional DoD SCM requirements with incremental configuration controls, an interactive change control process, plus a semi-automated software compilation and integration system. The success of the project and the overall DSCM effort led to expanded responsibilities for SCM, covering all AFATDS related projects. Other work included acting as an internal consultant on SCM and DSCM for both new and existing projects, and assisting in the preparation of the SCM methodology aspects of new project proposals. Was in charge of the development of the Segment On-line Automated Release System (SOARS) and the Magnavox Automated Configuration Environment (MACE), both being tools for use on large DoD software projects.

Senior member of the AFATDS Project Technical Staff under the project's Software Director. Acted as a staff troubleshooter, responsible for resolving or leading the effort to resolve development problems not covered by the original system design.
